How Jump's MCP-Powered Claude Connector Puts Context to Work

Jump allows advisors and financial professionals to turn countless client interactions into actionable data. With Jump’s Claude Connector, financial professionals can use that context to do even more. This flexible and secure connection between Jump and Claude enables agentic workflows to do real work across firm systems, saving time and elevating the entire client experience.
Jump’s Claude Connector relies on a secure connection framework called Model Context Protocol (MCP). Here's what advisors should know about it.
What is MCP?
MCP is an open standard created by Anthropic that lets AI assistants like Claude connect to applications and pull in relevant information. Think of it as a secure bridge between Claude and other software you already use. Using MCP, applications like Jump build integrations called “connectors” which users can turn on inside an AI tool like Claude. So, instead of an advisor copying and pasting client notes into a Claude chat window, Jump’s Claude Connector allows Claude to connect to Jump using MCP and retrieve relevant data directly.
How Jump's Claude Connector works
Within Claude, Jump users can enable the Claude Connector in a single click. Once connected, when an advisor asks Claude a question, Claude sends a secure request to Jump through MCP, retrieves the relevant data, and uses it as context within the same Claude session. The advisor doesn't need to open Jump, search for data, or switch tabs. The connection only works while it's active and only pulls information the advisor already has permission to see. What Jump's Claude Connector can help financial professionals accomplish
With the Claude Connector, financial professionals can give Claude questions or instructions in plain language and get answers pulled from their Jump account. This unlocks capabilities like:
- Drafting follow-up emails after meetings
- Generating personalized presentations based on client information
- Looking across meeting history to find when an advisor last met with a client or how many times they've met
- Searching meeting notes for a specific topic, such as college savings plans
- Extracting action items to be completed by agents built in Claude
Jump’s Claude Connector has read-only access to Jump. That means Claude can retrieve information but cannot create, edit, or delete anything in an advisor's Jump account or any Jump-connected integrations, and it only sees what that advisor could already see when logging into Jump directly.
Prioritizing security and privacy
As the enterprise-grade AI platform purpose-built for financial professionals and trusted by compliance teams across 11,500+ firms of all sizes, Jump puts security first. Before using Jump’s Claude Connector, advisors and firms should weigh a few factors:
- Firms retain control over who has access. Jump's Claude Connector must be enabled by an account owner, then authorized by each individual user.
- Data governance shifts once information leaves Jump. Once Claude retrieves data from Jump, that data is then governed by the firm's Claude plan and agreement with Anthropic, not by Jump. Firms on Claude Team or Enterprise plans should review data handling terms with their Claude administrator before enabling the connector.
- Access is user-scoped. Each staff member signs into Jump individually and only sees their own data; there's no cross-account visibility through the connector.
- Account owners retain control after setup. Access can be turned off temporarily through Jump's compliance settings or revoked entirely, and any individual user can disconnect their own access at any time.
Given that client data may pass through this connection, compliance teams should review their firm's policies on AI tools and data handling before enabling the connector.
